We are delighted to reveal that we have been named winner in the Social Mobility category at the School House Magazine Awards 2024 (sponsored by Christs Hospital School).
Our extensive and generous bursary scheme allows us to continue to offer life-changing educational opportunities to bright, talented students, regardless of their economic background. Currently 17% of our Senior School students receive this transformational, life-changing fee assistance. We spend approximately £3m each year of fee assistance with the majority of financially assisted students supported for more than 85% of their fees, as well as the cost of uniforms, travel, school trips, activities and lunches.
Hugo Middlemas, Director of Development at Christ's Hospital School was impressed by all three schools nominated for the award. He picked JAGS as the winner stating that the school "should be recognised for the steps it has made in growing its bursary programme. In its commitment, it is a good role model for other schools to follow."
We are actively reaching out to our alumnae, parents, and wider community to help raise essential funds for the JAGS Bursary Fund. In today’s challenging climate, ensuring the sustainability of our bursary provision is more important than ever.
One worthwhile way that you can make a lasting difference is by joining the newly launched 1741 Club, named in honour of our founding year. The 1741 Club recognises JAGS’s philanthropic roots and the spirit of giving that has shaped our history. Every regular gift, no matter the size, helps ensure future generations of talented students can benefit from a JAGS education.
