In Memoriam

It is with great sadness that we inform the JAGS community of the death of JAGS alumna Cathleen Eleanor Moore ('63), known as Eleanor.

Eleanor was born on 26 September 1944 and died on 13 April 2024. She attended JAGS between 1956 and 1963.

While at JAGS, Eleanor and her family lived in Dulwich. She was known by many local alumnae.

Following the VI Form, Eleanor went to Sussex University to study English, and then to University College London to do a Masters degree which led to a career in Town Planning.

Having worked for the Councils of Southwark, Horsham and Bexley, she ended her career as a Planning Inspector for the Department of the Environment.

For most of her adult life Eleanor lived in East Malling. Despite facing health challenges later in life, Eleanor remained resilient and maintained close ties with her extensive circle of friends.

A Memorial Service for her was held in East Malling on 22 May 2024. The entire JAGS community wishes to extend its deepest condolences to her friends and family.
