Alumnae News |
On a glorious Saturday 20th May, the school was delighted to welcome back over 130 guests, to the JAGS Alumnae Association’s 2023 annual reunion lunch. The Holst Hall was packed with alumnae from a range of class years, as far back as 1949, along with large numbers from the classes of '81, '83, '03 and '13, who were excited to see friends they had not seen for many years. We were joined by a number of former staff, including former Head, Marion Gibbs CBE, Alison Venn and Kate Firth, along with current teaching staff, and the Head Girls, all of whom enjoyed seeing former pupils and hearing about the extraordinary range of careers our JAs have had since leaving JAGS.
The event was hosted by the Head Alex Hutchinson, who welcomed the guests and talked about life at JAGS today and the incredible developments taking place at the school, she also talked about the importance of bursaries and why support is so vital to the school. Karen Doyle, Head of Development and Alumnae Relations then shared the exciting plans to build and grow the alumnae community including a raft of new events including professional networking and class year reunions.
Guests were then treated to a magnificent lunch, thoroughly enjoyed by our guests. A big thank you to Martin James and his catering team for making the occasion so special. After lunch, it was a trip down memory lane as groups set off on tours of the school, and Helen Stein and Sally Rendel were on hand to share the delights of both the Archive and the wonders of the Botany Gardens.
We look forward to next year!
