Remembering Dr Fiona Hicks

Remembering JAGS Alumnae Dr Fiona Hicks FRCP 1962-2015

The family of Fiona Hicks are remembering her, one year on, in this special way. Her father, Mr George Hicks, writes:

"Fiona attended JAGS during the years 1973 -1980 before graduating in Medicine at Nottingham University in 1985. She enjoyed a very successful and distinguished career, specialising ultimately in palliative medicine in which she excelled. A full obituary detailing her life and career can be obtained from the library of the Royal College of Physicians, or by email to george.hicks2@ntlworld.com   She worked tirelessly as the consultant physician at Martin House Children’s Hospice for many years before becoming a trustee there until her death.  Her three children, in conjunction with the hospice, are planning a fitting memorial to her in the form of a lighting system that will brighten the area of the hospice in which the children’s art is exhibited."

Any ex-student, or members of staff who remember her and would like to be associated with this tribute can do so using the link below.  It shows Fiona out collecting for this charity, although seriously ill at the time.
