She was unforgettable as the scheming landlady Mrs Meers in Thoroughly Modern Millie. We spotted Phoebe Campbell, year of 2016, three times on our screens during the Christmas break. Phoebe played Tara Lockston in Midsomer Murders and Petra with Jonny Vegas in a pilot of Home From Home. She even popped up in the television movie The Last Dragonslayer. Currently studying Drama at university, Phoebe says, “They've all been amazing. Midsomer was a brilliant experience as the cast also get to help in the writing process, going through the script and seeing if any strings don't tie up, and that everything makes sense. That was really enjoyable, as you feel like you've helped create the drama on other levels. Home from Home was incredible, mostly because of the actors around me, who were really inspiring. I was learning new techniques and ways to approach heavily naturalistic scenes which I’ve previously really struggled with. As for The Last Dragon Slayer, I didn't really have a huge part so it was just a load of fun. The whacky costumes were also brilliant as the attention to detail was unreal, which just highlights how important every production role is when making a film or series.”
Did anyone else see Ellie Morris on New Year’s Eve as Tootles in a televised performance of Peter Pan Goes Wrong? Still a chance to catch the hilarious show by Mischief Theatre Company at London’s Apollo Theatre until the end of January.
